Japanese Exchange Study Tour 2010

In 2010, fourteen students have been granted the opportunity to travel to Japan for 13 days as part of the Japanese Exchange Study Tour. The group will be leaving at midnight on the 10th September to fly to the Japanese capital of Tokyo (via Hong Kong).

Tokyo will introduce the students to Shibuya, Harajuku, Asakusa and electric town, Akihabara. Also, it is here that students will undertake the 5 night homestay in the homes of Tokyo students, whilst attending Waseda University High School.

Later, the group will tour the city of Kyoto, visiting such places as Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), various temples (including the Todaiji Temple, home to the world’s largest Buddha), and of course numerous karaoke bars, sushi bars, shopping centres and the like.
The group will also be visiting Osaka and Hiroshima.
For the group of fourteen students selected for this trip, this promises to be an exciting and unique experience. As many of the students have never been to Japan, the trip provides an opportunity to experience a land which is completely unknown, and to practise the language in a manner which would be impossible in a classroom.
